DAN'S GUIDE FOR CREATING YOUR DREAM LIVING SPACE

Creativity is at the heart of everything we do at VRG GRL, and our home’s are no exception in performing as another blank canvas for our evolving creative ideas. With the recent move into her inner city abode, we got chatting to our co-founder and CEO, Daniella about the interiors that shape the oasis of her modern space and draw intimate connections to her own creative identity.

Casting light on the stockpiled memories of her travels and an abundance of unexpected treasures she’s collected along the way, Dan’s pulled together her own version of a little black book to guide your next interior hunt.

The painting on the right wall was created by artist Bonnie Gray as a bridesmaid gift that my best friend, and sister, bought for me. It was custom painted according to the love story of my partner, Tim, and I. I hold this piece super close to my heart.” Bonnie also sent us a letter that we got framed.

I got the painting behind our bed custom made as well by @octavia_tomyn_art. I loved her body paintings - she did it personalised for myself and my partner. My bed is by @_zenndesign. I got this custom made. You can choose your own colours and fabrics, I love boucle because it’s super neutral.

I purchased these chairs from @clo_studios and adore the vintage inspired feel they add to my home. I’ve had the marble side table for years, it’s a vintage piece I collected. The bowl is from house owl is from house of alwaans in clunes - amazing shop with all pieces from morocco. So many bowls, vases and pots. Authentic. Marble head - Nat bought me from antique centre a few years ago.

Our dining table is from @en._gold. It fits so many people which is perfect as I love entertaining and having friends and family over. It’s made from stone and fossil and contrasts so nicely against the black & rattan chairs.

This is my favourite affordable purchase. I was determined to find some wave handles and found these from Urban Outfitters Home. My worry beads are from Greece and have been in my life for 10 years, I adore them. These chairs were purchased from @racheldonath_. I bought these a few years ago and still love them as they tie in perfectly with my wavy door handles.

Our couch is @sarahellisonstudio. The suede collour matches perfectly with my neutral colour palette and it’s literally the biggest, most comfortable couch ever. I purchased from floor lamp and candle holders from @mcmullinandcoThe picture on the wall is a Slim Aaarons piece - he is my favourite photographer so I found it difficult to pick just one, but I love the boats, they bring such a European atmosphere. The rug is from Milk and Sugar and the coffee table is a really old travertine table I purchased second hand.

Our hallway table was purchased from Coco Republic. I love this shade of marble, it’s my dream. The vase is an antique set of 2 that I purchased 10 years ago at a cute antique store. I have a million coffee table books because I am obsessed - I especially go for bright ones or European ones as they inspire me. The ceramic sculpture was made by my husband Tim when he was little - I love how timeless and sentimental it is.

When I first stayed at the sun seeker in Byron Bay, they had these incredible pieces in every room so I reached out to the artist who made one for me.
