It truly is the most wonderful time of year. Christmas music on heavy rotation at the office, getting together with your nearest and dearest for wine and cheese, and (for those of us down under) those deliciously long summer afternoons that turn into balmy evenings full of conversation and laughter.
Although cozying up with a warm cup of eggnog isn’t quite on the agenda here in Australia, we’re no strangers to the joy of watching a Christmas classic every night of December.
If you need a list of classics (and some new treasures) to make your holiday season a little sweeter, check out our guide below.
Home Alone
If you’re after those nostalgic feels, Home Alone is the watch for you. This one truly takes us back to our childhood!
Love Actually
It wouldn’t be Christmas without watching it at least once (although we’re guilty of squeezing in as many replays as possible). Love Actually is by far the office favourite with all of it’s English, romantic goodness.
Bridget Jones’s Diary
Okay, so it’s technically not a Christmas movie, but we’re firm believers that any film set at Christmas time warrants a watch during the holiday season. We’re suckers for the first Bridget Jones’s Diary - and an excuse to watch a movie starring early noughties Hugh Grant is definitely on our agenda.
Elf
A hilarious watch that will have you laughing the whole way through. Elf is the joyous Christmas film we all need this time of year!
The Holiday
With it’s all-star cast, this rom-com is a definite crowd pleaser. An absolute must-watch for Christmas.
Office Christmas Party
If you’re feeling daring enough to try one of the newer Christmas movies, we highly recommend starting with Office Christmas Party. This one is a hilarious, easy watch starring our 90s golden girl Jen Aniston.
