Responsibility

Our collective mission is to inspire creativity and confidence, empowering young women everywhere to feel like the best version of themselves. As a business, we recognise the role we play in the fashion economy and understand there is work to be done to make a conscious impact on our planet and wider community.

We don’t have all the answers, but we do have the resources and power to make a positive change, and we are committed to ongoing progress as we learn and discover new opportunities.

DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING

All our products are designed in- house in Australia and manufactured in China. Our manufacturing partners must adhere to our Ethical Trade policy.  This code of conduct sets out the standards of employment and working conditions that are required to be met at all stages of our supply chain.

The elements of this policy are to be used as minimum requirements for working, and the policy is based on the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI). This sets out worldwide standards of labour practice and is an alliance of retailers, manufacturers, NGOs and trade union organisations. The policy covers; but is not limited to:

  • TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
  • DISCRIMINATION and RESPECTFUL TREATMENT
  • WORKING HOURS and WAGES
  • HEALTH, SAFETY and SECURITY
  • ADHERENCE TO ENVIRONMENTAL LAWS
  • CHILD LABOUR and YOUNG WORKERS

VRG GRL is committed to the transparency of our supply chain by registering on the Open Supply Hub.

CHEMICAL TESTING

Our Linen has been tested for chemicals and heavy metals and meets the non-detection guidelines  as set by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

INCLUSIVITY AND FIT

We’re constantly striving to improve the fit of our products. We know that no two bodies are the same, so here's some of the design techniques we use to accommodate a range of body types:

BIAS CUT

When the garment pattern pieces are cut on a 45- degree angle, increasing the stretch of the garment and allowing the style of dress/skirt to comfortably drape over multiple body shapes creating a comfortable, flattering fit.

ADJUSTABILITY

To ensure our garments accommodate a variety of body types, we incorporate features like adjustable straps for different torso lengths, elasticated waistbands for ease of fit, and drawcords for a customisable fit.

REGENERATED AND NATURAL FIBRES

We’re committed to using better materials. We’re always learning and improving on what we do, and we’re sure that in time, there will be new conversations about fibres and cutting edge textiles on the market, but here’s some of the materials we’re using based on what we know so far:

Community

We Support

Since VRG GRL started, our founders Daniella and Natalia have made it their priority to give back and support people in need. We’ve been donating 10% of our profits to causes we love since our inception, and we’re proud to continue doing this in 2024 and beyond. Here are the charities we’re giving our love to in this year, hand-picked by Dan and Nat:

  • Thread Together
  • Compassion Australia
  • Fred Hollows Foundation
  • Water for Africa
