B CORP
B Corp™ Certification is administered by B Lab, a nonprofit network working to transform the global economy for the benefit of people, communities, and the planet. Certification involves a rigorous, independent assessment of a company’s social and environmental impact.
Our certification
VRG GRL is a Certified B Corporation™, meaning we currently meet verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
We see B Corp certification as a tangible and independent framework for holding ourselves accountable and driving better practice across our business. It provides a clear way to measure how we operate and to challenge ourselves to improve year on year.
Certification recognises the work our team has done to strengthen our practices, but it is not an end point. As B Corp standards evolve, we are actively working toward alignment with the updated B Corp impact pillars. To support this, we are building a three-year strategy to guide how we prioritise actions, set targets, and strengthen our impact across these areas as part of our ongoing B Corp journey.
This approach allows us to move beyond compliance and embed continuous improvement into how we operate as we grow.

We don’t have all the answers, but we are committed to using our resources and influence to drive meaningful change.
Here’s how we’re set to make an impact:
Certified B Corporation™
We are a Certified B Corporation and use the B Corp™ framework as an accountability tool to guide continuous improvement across our business, measuring our impact and challenging us to do better year on year.
Transparency and Accountability:
From 2025, we have been publishing an annual Impact Report outlining our progress, challenges, and next steps across key responsibility areas. This is part of our commitment to sharing our journey openly and honestly.
Reduce Head Office Carbon Footprint:
Evaluate and reduce the carbon emissions of our head office through the use of renewable energy, enhanced waste management practices, and sustainable office supplies.
Supply Chain Visibility Beyond Tier 1
While our current focus is on strengthening transparency and accountability at Tier 1, we are working toward improving visibility across Tier 2 suppliers, prioritising a risk-based and phased approach.
Reusable Material Policy:
We are working toward ensuring excess usable materials are reused or recycled wherever possible, helping to reduce waste and keep materials in circulation for longer. This is an active priority and we will publish progress updates as our program develops.
Responsible Cotton Sourcing:
We are committed to sourcing cotton from the most responsible available options, aligned with recognised standards and best practice. This remains an active priority and we will share updates on our progress as our sourcing program matures.
Recycled Polyester Commitment:
We are building the foundations to increase the use of recycled polyester within our range, with a target to implement this by the end of 2026 where suitable for product quality and performance.
Fabric Sourcing and Testing:
Continue enhancing the sourcing and testing of the fabrics we use to align with our sustainability and quality standards.
PLANET
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact across our operations and supply chain.
Air and Climate
Our Air and Climate Policy outlines our approach to reducing emissions across our business, with a focus on logistics and freight.
This includes:
- Stronger planning and shipment visibility to reduce unnecessary freight
- A continued shift toward lower-impact freight methods where feasible
- Screening and monitoring logistics partners to ensure alignment with our expectations
We are also working to reduce avoidable returns through improved product quality, durability, and fit, which helps minimise additional transport and associated emissions.
Solar and Energy
As part of our commitment to reducing emissions, we have installed solar panels on our HQ roof.
We now generate approximately 78% of our HQ’s energy needs directly from rooftop solar, helping to significantly reduce our operational energy consumption.
Packaging
We use packaging solutions designed to reduce environmental impact and continue to evolve our approach as better options become available.
We have begun transitioning our packaging and are currently using a combination of materials as we introduce updated options and responsibly work through existing stock. This includes compostable packaging currently in use, alongside the introduction of recyclable and reusable mailers and poly bags as part of this transition.
We work closely with our packaging partners to improve the quality, performance, and impact of our packaging over time, balancing durability, functionality, and environmental considerations.
Beyond protective packaging, we are also reviewing the materials used across our trims and tags. We are transitioning our swing tags to FSC-certified paper, while our woven labels are being produced using GRS recycled polyester yarn. Our care labels are made using a blend of recycled polyester and organic cotton yarn.
As we continue to evolve as a brand, we’re transitioning toward packaging made with recycled content, prioritising options that are better aligned with real-world recycling systems. This includes progressing the use of recycled materials in our packaging, both in-store and online.
We have a dedicated Responsibility Manager based at our HQ who leads our sustainability initiatives, focusing on strengthening supply chain transparency, optimising energy and water use, improving waste management, enhancing fabric utilisation, and progressing the use of lower-impact materials.
This role helps ensure our Planet commitments are actively managed, measured, and continuously improved across the business.
ETHICAL TRADE
Supply Chain
At VRG GRL, we care deeply about the people behind our products and see it as our responsibility to ensure garments are produced under fair, safe, and respectful working conditions. We work transparently with the partners who make our products and believe meaningful progress comes from collaboration and accountability.
We do not accept child labour, forced or compulsory labour, unsafe working environments, or discriminatory practices at any stage of production.
All VRG GRL products are designed in-house in Australia and manufactured with carefully selected partners. Our Ethical Trade Policy outlines the minimum standards we expect across our supply chain, and all manufacturing partners are required to acknowledge and commit to these standards as part of working with us, while our focus remains on building long-term, transparent partnerships with the people who make our garments.

Where we’re focused:
Our current focus is on Tier 1 manufacturing partners (cut, make, trim factories). We are working toward improving visibility beyond Tier 1 through a phased, risk-based approach.
Our approach to ethical trade:
100% Tier 1 traceability
We know exactly where our garments are made. By mapping every Tier 1 factory that produces VRG GRL products, we maintain clear visibility into the factories responsible for each stage of production.
This helps us manage risks such as unauthorised subcontracting, unsafe working conditions, and unfair labour practices - and ensures we can take responsibility and act quickly if issues arise.
100% of Tier 1 factories independently audited
All Tier 1 production factories are required to hold a valid, independent social and environmental audit conducted by recognised third-party frameworks, such as SMETA.
These audits help us assess working conditions at the factory level, identify potential risks, and support continuous improvement. Independent auditors visit factories to review documentation, assess on-site conditions, and speak directly with workers.
Audits typically assess:
- Employment practices and working conditions
- Wages, working hours, and overtime
- Health, safety, and worker wellbeing
- Freedom of association and respectful treatment
- Child labour and modern slavery risks
- Environmental compliance
While we don’t yet have full visibility across every tier of our supply chain, our focus is on getting it right at the factory level first. From there, we’re expanding transparency through a phased, risk-based approach - prioritising areas of higher risk and working step by step to improve visibility where it matters most.
Continuous Improvement and Accountability
We recognise that ethical trade is an ongoing journey. Our focus is on strengthening supplier relationships, improving transparency, and working collaboratively with our partners to address gaps where they exist.
This approach forms part of our broader Responsibility program and supports our commitment as a Certified B Corporation and to long-term impact reduction.
PRODUCT
We design our products with a focus on quality, fit, and longevity, creating styles intended to be worn, loved, and kept in rotation. Good design isn’t just about how something looks. It’s about how it fits, how it performs, and how it holds up over time.
Inclusivity and Fit
Fit matters - and we know there’s no such thing as a single “standard” body. We continuously refine our patterns and construction to better accommodate different shapes, proportions, and ways of wearing.
Some of the design techniques we use include:
Bias Cut
Many of our styles are cut on the bias (a 45-degree angle), allowing the fabric to move and stretch more naturally. This helps garments drape comfortably across a range of body shapes, creating a more flexible and flattering fit.
Adjustability
We design with flexibility in mind. Features like adjustable straps, elasticated waistbands, and drawcords allow for variation in torso length, waist fit, and personal preference.
Fabric Sourcing and Testing
We work closely with our suppliers to source fabrics that meet our quality, performance, and safety standards. Before production, fabrics are tested to help ensure durability and consistent wear.
Testing includes:
- Colour fastness
- Shrinkage
- Performance and wear
- Harmful substances
Chemical Testing
Our linen has been tested for chemicals and heavy metals and meets non-detection guidelines as set by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).
Materials Direction
We recognise that our material choices matter. Introducing lower-impact materials, such as recycled polyester, is an area we're actively working to improve. We've trialled recycled inputs for select products and are committed to actively expanding this program throughout 2026.
Design Longevity
We focus on considered design, fit development, and quality construction to support longer product lifespans and reduce premature disposal.
Care and Longevity
Caring for your garments helps them last longer - and reduces their impact along the way. A few small habits make a real difference:
- Wash only when needed
- Choose cold cycles
- Line dry where possible
- Avoid tumble drying
- Repair small issues to keep pieces in rotation

We are working hard to diversify our size range. The majority of our product is available in AU size 4-16 / XXS-XXL, and we are currently working towards 100% of our products being available in this size range. Similarly, we have transitioned to easy-fit, versatile, and adjustable features to ensure our pieces can be worn dynamically and cater to a broader range of bodies.
